This Past Week Month At Paranormal Haven

This is our first Weekly Recap since the start of our Halloween event on October 1st. We had another great year and are very thankful for all the authors/assistants/publicists that helped out.  Check out this post for a full list of event giveaways.

We also want to give a big thanks to all the people who tuned in and stopped by during last month’s festivities. Our readers rock!

Getting back to our regular business, here were the non-event posts we squeezed in this last week:

Guest post from author Juliana Stone
Guest post from author Victoria Danann

Changes are coming to Paranormal Haven

One thing we put in place at the start of last month’s event is the ‘Continue Reading’ jump link now at the bottom of each post on our home screen. We put that in so we could have more posts on our home page and cut out any issues that would have risen from using so many Rafflecopter forms during the event.

We did begin our search for a guest reviewer (mainly for Romantic Suspense and Contemporary Romance genres we’re going to try out) at the end of September. We found someone and will be introducing her to everyone next week.

Our 3rd Blogiversary is coming up (I can’t believe our little blog is almost 3 years old!) and we’re currently putting together a completely new look. Expect to see a new header, background, blog button, social media icons as well as some rearranging and removing of things on our sidebar.

Since it will be our 3rd Blogiversary, we are planning 3 days of giveaways. More about that soon as well as information on how you can vote in our Best of 2012 awards!

Giveaway Winners

2 e-copy of Annals of the Immortyls by Denise Verrico – Wade2121 and Victoria Z

Congratulations! You all now have 3 days to respond to our email [or contact us at paranormalhaven(at)gmail(dot)com] or another winner(s) will be chosen.

Have you Voted?

The presidential election isn’t until next week but you can get your voting on early. Voting in the opening round of the Goodreads Choice Awards has begun.  Click on this link to be taken directly to the voting page.

Authors After Dark has also opened voting for their Bookie Awards. The winners will be announced at the Bookie Awards Ceremony in Savannah, Georgia next August. Click on this link to be taken directly to the voting ballot.

Cover Talk

There were quite a few new book covers posted during our month of spooktacular fun.  These are just a few that caught our eye.  What do you think of our selections?

  1. I personally like the ‘Continue Reading’ jump link. I think it makes a blog look cleaner :) Cuts down on page loading time as well.

Can’t wait to meet your new reviewer; I love romantic suspense so I’m always on the look out for book recs.

Looking forward to seeing your new look!

  2. I like the ‘Continue Reading’ jump link too. We plan on making it look cuter with some kind of a graphic but for now it works for us.

  3. A fresh look is always a good thing! The Alyssa day and Dianne Sylvan books are already on my wish list, love the covers.

  4. I think so too Diane and it’s been about a year since we had a new look :-)

  5. Looking forward to the new look. As I always enter the blog through the emails I receive, I did not really notice the continue reading. If you click on the title of the post in the email, you get that whole post including comments.

    Wow, 3 years almost. I am 2,5 :)

  6. Congrats on your upcoming blogoversary! I’m getting close to #3 as well. I can’t wait to see your new look!

I like the “continued reading” link too. I can see how that would help with Rafflecopter.

    Enjoy your new books!
