At the request of his mate and witch coven The Coven of Nine Connlan Kayrs signed a treaty to leave his mate in Ireland with the Nine for one century. Well that century just expired and nothing short of death will stop con from collecting his mate and bringing her to safety. The war with the Realm has just heated up, with the Demons now joining in the fight against the Vampire Realm. Not to mention the Coven of Nine on the verge of withdrawing Conn cannot wait any longer to retrieve his mate and bring her home to safety. But when he reaches his mate she is no longer the innocent naive girl who begged for time to train before committing to a mating, no what he found is a strong sassy enforcer for the Coven Nine.
Moira Dunne had wished for centuries Connlan would come back for her, but now that he has she can’t possibly go. The only reason he could be here is because of the Nine’s impending withdraw, it must be a political move. No way can she drop everything she is and leave with him not with the unknown threat that is taking council members form the Nine out of thin air.
I love this series. There is nothing overly new about the story line in the books, but the characters are amazing and take on a life of their own. You fall in love with each Kayrs brother and you’re hooked.
Hunted was not my favorite of the three books so far, but I still enjoyed it. I was hooked the entire book. I love each brother and I was on the edge of my seat the whole book waiting to see what will happen and how Moira and Conn would work out their differences.
As all with the Kayrs brothers I loved Connlan he just oozed sexual power, with his new found power from his mate, it only made him even more of a bad ass. He is very much a kick ass and take names type of alpha male. He loves his brothers and takes there job as the royal family very serious. He would do anything to keep his family out of arms way of this war, but as the royal family it is their job to be on the front lines defending their people.
There is so much going on with the war and it keeps getting worse but they are holding their own. I wanted to just make it all better for them, you feel so badly for some of them and what they are going through because of the stupid war. This book explains a bit more about the witches coven and how their treaty with the vampire Realm works, you see a little of what they are all up against. The war is opening up and there are more players on the field. Unfortunately I think they will have a few more obstacles to overcome before the series is over.
Moira is not my favorite female in this series. I don’t dislike her, but I am not over whelmed with love for her either. She is a bit too stubborn and defiant. She believe she must be a certain way because of her standing the coven, but she never stops to think about what it is she wants and what would be best for her. She plays by the rules even when on one else is. She needs to have a little more faith in Conn and let him be the mate he wants to be to her. But even though I have said all that, let me contradict myself at the same time; I think that her stubbornness and loyalty is an asset to her. I don’t think Conn would love her as much if she was some passive woman, she challenges him and that is good for him. So I guess I’d say I must just be jealous of her so that’s why I don’t like her. Lol. When she spares with the king, OMG, I was super jealous. I know he has a mate but I don’t think I would have been able to keep my hands off him, and keep it to an impersonal sparring session. Dage is just soo yummy. Actually all the brothers are yummy; it would be hard to pick just one. I have to admit the first thing I did after I finished this book is I went on Rebecca Zanetti’s website and looked to see whose book is next and when. I AM VERY EXCITED!!! I can’t wait…
